According to a recent survey by Access for Learning (A4L) of school district CIOs and tech leaders from across the United States, “grades passback” - the ability for grading software such as learning management systems to pass grades back into the gradebooks of student information systems - was rated as the number one “pain point” for data integration. In response, A4L has established a team to incorporate grades passback into the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) Unity specification. Mike Reynolds, President and Co-Founder of Cedar Labs, was named as the co-lead for this community-based effort. “Mike’s continued commitment to furthering the SIF standard, combined with his deep technical expertise, makes him a fantastic leader for this team,” states Dr. Larry Fruth, executive director of A4L. “His work is an example of how our grassroots standards movement stays modern and relevant, meeting the needs of today’s education technology leaders.”
Cedar Labs provides local and state education agencies and software providers with seamless, secure data interoperability across all software systems.
